Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. I know I wouldn't.

This is my place to jot down my thoughts, document my hobby (as best I can) and provide another way of engaging with our small community. Had a blog on Wordpress, but I'm too dumb to fully take advantage of its features. 

Having started collecting miniatures in the late 1990's while at a game store on vacation at the beach, I saw the boxed games of Gorkamorka! and Mordheim on the shelves. After looking at the blisters of miniatures and being inspired by Magic: The Gathering, I knew I wanted in.

I cut my teeth with the Warhammer Fantasy Battle starter set from 5th edition, getting my rural small-town friends interested as soon as 7th grade. After playing Warhammer Fantasy Battle all throughout high-school (and embarrassed that we did so), I took a small break during my time at the Academy before diving back in upon graduating.

Building competitive lists never really interested me, and while I tried to play games of Warhammer Fantasy or '40k' at my local game stores, I found the entire experience a bit uninspiring and disengaging. Why were my soldiers fighting theirs? Why were they not talking to me, and only focusing on beating me in a game? What is that smell?

Having no one to really play games with routinely while living in Houston, I usually will play the smaller skirmish-games with my wife (who beats me more often than not!). Having a small family of our own does not lend itself to having ample time to set up terrain, build lists, or play even a small Games Workshop game. However, over the years I had kept a watchful eye on the internet, and even discovered blogs and, most recently, Instagram as a way of seeing what others were doing with miniatures.

After stumbling on forums like Tom's Boring Mordheim Forum, Freebooter's Forum and the Between the Bolter and Me blog, I felt like I'd a home.

H owdy! And welcome to my first official blog post. Back in November of 2022, I'd held a small Mordheim Invitational in Houston, Texas, gathering together a small group of passionate Mordheim artists and hobbyists from around the world. Vastarian Terrain Board Part 2

H i! Long time no see. Sorry for that. Hurricane Baryl did a number on us and it's been a long road to recovery. While I started this blog post almost 4 months ago, glad to see it finished.  I've moved my Wordpress blog over to Blogger- first and foremost because it is free, but also because Blogger is far more user-friendly. I am sure Wordpress would work out in the end, but I simply don't have enough time to learn the ins and outs of its templates, and kept beansing it.  Lastly, there has been a resurgence amongst blogs this year - from excellent musings from Ian at Portcullis, Rory up in Alberta and even Mordheim Paul sharing his gaming experiences and thoughts. The Rot of Hondious Event

He was eager to put together something of his own and after having conducted my own Mordheim event the previous year, Martin wanted to lean a bit on my experience putting together narrative events. Needless to say, I was overjoyed and excited to help! Hondious, a feudal world on the far-flung edge of the galaxy so bereft of resources that even the greedy Imperium would not bother bringing it back within its fold, was Martin’s brainchild.
